And The Winner Is .....

Postby exussum » 23 Jul 2012, 20:14

With less than a week to go in the 2007 - 2008 season it's time to reveal which Phantoms are ending the year at the top of the points table. Overall it was a relatively poor year for the team with only 11 games played during the season, 6 of which were at home, resulting in only 4 wins. Also, the choice of opponents wasn't as varied as in previous years with 6 of the games being played against our old friends the Aardvarx in one guise or another.
On the brighter side, personal achievments paint a more positive picture. Mike Foster and Mal Singleton did best on attendance as they both played in all the Phantoms fixtures. Mal also came a close second in the assists tally with Jaro Bartos not far behind either. Dan Schofield did well in his first season scoring in each of the 5 games he played, while both Phil Bide and Roland Flook appear in the list of top scorers. For the second year running the Phantoms starting netminder, Jamie Scarratt, managed to accumulate the most MVP awards while Paul Morris and Peter Coulton came top of the bad boys list, each with a total of 18 minutes in penalties.
But the ultimate accolade for most points goes to Ludo Krempasky who only played in 8 of the 11 games but managed to accrue 12 points from 6 goals and 6 assists whilst only giving up 2 minutes in penalties.
