Phantoms - a report sponsored by and in the style of apple.

Phantoms bid to take the escalator down to the metros stop and take a right turn into the kitchen.

The game started fast and with the Phantoms long sapping journey to this away fixture it was always going to prove tricky. Taking the game to the Metros in their own back yard the Phantoms where undaunted and managed to get their offensive game going quickly from the off with first line getting regular shots off on the keeper who held on to the puck for another face off. The pattern was set with second and third lines making good progress in the offensive zone. In defence, a big game from the experienced outfit on all lines gave a good platform for the goal tender for the night, Mr Kitchen, who definitely had the stove stoked and the brandy ready for the flambé which happened at regular intervals.

Mid way into the first half Kitchen made an awesome save and came up with the puck even when the Metros thought they had finally broken through. Even the trigger happy scorers chalked the goal up only for the zebra to set them straight. ‘That was no goal, no goal’
The first period ended in a tight tussle as it had started. You could not put a cigarette paper between these teams, a real and rare treat for the home crowd to see a spirited game.

The second period. Dream sequence, flashback, dream sequence, Bobbi Ewing in the shower, Red Dwarf 10.

The third period. The teams continued to take turns in flinging 6oz of hard rubber into the keepers rib cages at high velocity, but both keepers where in astounding form as the offensive lines took full advantage on the ice. The phantoms enforcer number 42 found himself in the sin bin for slashing ‘I could have sworn the puck was there to be won’ he said in interview afterwards even though the replays showed the puck had departed minutes before hand on a number 12 bus.

The game ended as it started with a flurry of goal mouth activity and late scrambles at both ends. A thoroughly entertaining and hard fought game, the crowd went wild. The Phantoms can be satisfied with a job well done on the long and winding journey home. The Metros has a good time as well it was a top job. The Metros will certainly be wary about playing that opposition again any time soon!!!

** As with all apple product sequences - this report may have been shortened to give the read the illusion that the product we are trying to flog is actually any good. Apple accept no responsibility that some of the cut elements from the report may have been important to the outcome or the readers understanding of events. Apple will sue the arse off anyone actually at the game who claims that any omissions in the report are material to the article.

*** I you are reading this as a metro fan and were expecting an unbiased review of the game then I have two thoughts, the first is thanks for a really good game we really enjoyed it. The second is, get your own website and make your own report up. Great game see you soon.

Looks like that LSD tab that we put on your gumshield worked then Derek.

Just some perspective on this game, in case you were wondering how we went fron a 6-6 draw last year to a 9-0 drubbing with a stronger team...five of those metros players played for their A team last night, including last seasons A team top scorer, but not including the goalie who played against us - though she was the As first choice last year. And they won their league.

The other half were mostly Bs, including their top two scorers who have 21 points between them in the first four games.

I would still play them again anyday, but for morale's sake we should understand that they can pick a side that is way out of our league if they so choose. I also think that bearing on mind the standard of opposition we played very well. Without the concentration lapse that cost us a hatful of goals in a few second period minutes this would have been a respectable result, and we definitely deserved to score.

Plus, its all good practice with two tough games coming up vs BlackBears and Dragons!

Year years top point scorer is back in america. They had 2 A team lads. But yeah there is 21 points between 2 guys so far in 4 games. The goalie was the huge difference. Shes awesome in net

Five of them iced for the As on sunday vs. Sheffield. Not including the netminder which is six out of fourteen players. http://www.buiha.org.uk/gameStats.php?gid=2213

Holder was top scorer in last years cup with 8 goals. http://www.buiha.org.uk/cupStats.php?ci ... c=0&tid=28

There had to be a reason why we went from two close games against them to getting blown out of the water within a year, because I believe that this club is getting better not worse.

Im not accusing anyone of being unfair, they can ice whatever team they like against us if they're paying for the ice. But it helps to aknowledge just how strong they were because it wasnt actually that bad a performance in context.

Yeah they are struggling for A teamers so have asked anyone to play up.

Ahh i thought Allen Gunn won both points and Goals.

Last years team was a B/C mix with a forward in goal and was played over the summer rather than in season (when players are back)

I agree we are getting better and we will be playing these again next year (probably early on) so have a real opportunity to pull back a better score line.
